Concord Soccer - Delaware

Welcome to the Concord Soccer Representative Soccer Tryout Information page.  We hope this information will help you choose to tryout for Concord Soccer!

Concord Soccer offers rolling tryouts during the course of a season, meaning that a player can be invited into an existing team’s training session to be evaluated. IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY ON A CONCORD REPRESENTATIVE TEAM, YOU WILL BE EVALUATED TO PLAY FOR A TEAM COMPRISED OF PLAYERS BORN IN YOUR SAME BIRTH YEAR.

To arrange for an invitation to be evaluated, please contact the head coach of the team you are interested in for consideration.   Coach biographies and contact information can be found at under Programs and Representative Program.

Players will be considered for the upcoming soccer season, which runs from August 2019 to May or June 2020.  Players can also be considered to join a team this spring if roster spots are open.

To be eligible to try out for a team, all players (existing and new) must register for tryouts.  Tryout registration is open.  There is no charge to register for tryouts for an existing team.  If a player is new to Concord Soccer, they will need first to create a user account at before registering for tryouts.

Coaches are able to notify all players, either returning or newcomers, for the upcoming year, beginning March 1.  Once the coach notifies a player and his/her family of their interest in having them join the team, the process for facilitating the mutual acceptance is as follows:

  1. Coach notifies verbally (in person or via telephone) of their invitation for the player to join the team.

  2. An acceptance email will be generated, which will officially invite you to join the team.  To accept, families are required to pay the appropriate acceptance installment to confirm their commitment.  Families are required to complete this process within 3 calendar days of the acceptance email being generated in order to maintain their roster spot invitation.

New teams are formed in the Under-9 age group each year.  In preparation for the 2019-2020 soccer season, tryouts will be held for the 2011 birth year, as we look to form new teams, for both boys and girls.  Players born in 2011 and 2012 are eligible to tryout for these teams.  Tryouts for these age groups will be held on the following dates and times, at the Concord Soccer Complex at 2503 Naamans Road, Wilmington, Delaware:

2011 Boys: Monday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 8 from 6:00-7:30pm

2011 Girls: Tuesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 9 from 6:00-7:30pm

     (player check-in begins at 5:30pm)

Players are issued a numbered identification vest at check-in and the coaches and evaluators identify players by their numbers.  Players are assessed while playing small-sided and full-sided games during the tryouts – it is our belief that the best way to evaluate if a player is at the level of a representative team is to allow them to play and evaluate them accordingly.

When does the season start?

The team typically will start training in August.  We typically hold a meeting for parents of new players in July, and uniforms will be need to be ordered before then.
