Concord Soccer is offering two coaching classes this Summer. These classes are focused at the u10 and u12 age groups. Each class will present how to prepare, deliver, and review a training session. Components of the training session model include - developing a session around a technical topic, warmup, demonstration, small sided games that develop the technical topic while gradually introducing competition and looking like soccer, and finishing with a cool down. The classes will also present activities emphasizing the core technical components including receiving the ball, moving to space, and passing - including lanes, runs and accuracy.
Two classes will be offered, Monday July 25th and Wednesday August 10th. The sessions will be held from 6:30-8 at Talley Day Park fields. The sessions will be presented by Fran Kulas, Concord Soccer Director of Coaching, Mark Peipher, Concord Soccer Director of Soccer Development and USSF licensed coaches from the Concord Soccer Representative program.
Pre-registration is required and can be done online in the Concord Soccer registration system-see register/login button at www.concordsoccer.com or click here. Below are additional details on how to register. These sessions are free to coaches and parents of Concord Soccer players.
Concord Soccer is offering these classes with the hope that more parents will volunteer to coach at the u10 and u12 age groups. In recent seasons the number of players in these age groups have significantly increased. Without enough coaches we have had to turn away players. By attending these sessions and talking with other coaches, you will feel more confident as you prepare for the season ahead.
